Background : To compare the safety and efficacy of Lapsingle VisionTM trocar in single-site robotic cholecystectomy to the outcomes for da VinciTM S system trocar during same method.

Methods : One-hundred fifty patients (100 Lapsingle VisionTM , 50 da VinciTM S system) underwent single-site robotic cholecystectomy at Dongtan and Chuncheon sacred heart hospital between 2019 and 2020. Postoperative outcomes (pain, analgesics use, wound complications) and hospital stay were compared between two different trocar configuration.

Results : There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in sex, age, indications for surgery, operation time, and length of hospital stay. Regarding the wound complications, bleeding, pus formation and hernia did not occur in either group. However, incidence of wound seroma and necrosis were statistically lower in Lapsingle VisionTM group. Postoperative pain comparison was analyzed using the VAS scale, and there was no difference in pain between the two groups at postop 1, 2 4, 8, 16, 24 and 48 hours. Also, there was no difference between the two groups in the number of analgesics used after surgery.

Conclusions : Incidence of wound seroma and necrosis were lower in Lapsingle VisionTM group even though postoperative pain and hospital stay were not different between two group. Therefore, Lapsingle VisionTM trocar are expected to minimize wound problem.
